Tropical Sunrise Mocktail Passionfruit Orange (Printable)

Vibrant layered passionfruit and orange mocktail with pineapple and grenadine for an eye-catching sunrise.

# What You'll Need:

→ Fruit juices

01 - Passionfruit juice, 120 ml (fresh or bottled)
02 - Orange juice, 180 ml (freshly squeezed preferred)
03 - Pineapple juice, 60 ml

→ Sweetener

04 - Grenadine syrup, 15 ml

→ Garnish & extras

05 - Ice cubes, as required
06 - Orange slices, 2, for garnish
07 - Fresh mint sprigs, optional
08 - Passionfruit pulp, 15 ml, optional

# How to Make It:

01 - Select two tall glasses and fill them with ice cubes to chill and create a stable base for layering.
02 - Measure 120 ml passionfruit juice and pour 60 ml into each glass so the passionfruit forms the first layer.
03 - Over the back of a spoon or by pouring slowly, add 90 ml orange juice to each glass followed by 30 ml pineapple juice to maintain distinct layers.
04 - Gently pour 7.5 ml grenadine down the inside edge of each glass; the syrup will sink and then slowly rise, creating the sunrise effect.
05 - Top each glass with an orange slice, a mint sprig and a small spoonful (about 15 ml) of passionfruit pulp if desired; serve immediately without stirring to preserve the layers.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • The sunrise effect never fails to dazzle, and it tastes as magical as it looks.
  • It comes together in minutes with whatever fresh juice you can manage—perfect for impromptu get-togethers or solo treats.
02 -
  • If you add the grenadine too fast or over the top, it clouds the layers instead of creating that sunrise—go slow along the edge.
  • Chilling everything ahead stops the ice from melting too soon, which keeps your colors crisp and the drink cold but not watery.
03 -
  • A bar spoon makes swirling grenadine much easier and less messy—practice your pouring on a glass of water first if you're nervous.
  • Try chilling your grenadine too; it sinks even more gracefully and makes for super crisp layers.
